Praise from Ofsted
But don't just take our word for it - in our most recent Ofsted inspection in July 2016, we were graded 'Good'. You can read the full report here, but highlights from the inspector's visit include:
"The most able pupils make very strong progress across the school and within lessons. The work they are given is challenging and often individually planned."
"Parents have great confidence in the school and value the opportunities they are given to share in celebrations of success and become involved in the life of the school. They say that the school has a real family atmosphere."
"The curriculum is well planned and subjects are closely integrated into exciting activities and events that stimulate pupils’ interests and foster a respect for the environment. All pupils have lessons outdoors every week."
We work hard to keep our small-school atmosphere - a family feel, friendly and supportive relationships between year groups, responsive teaching and learning that meets the individual needs of children - whilst offering the children at St Kew a range of opportunities and experiences that belie the size of the school. From a range of after school clubs that would make a school of twice it's size envious, to working with directors from the Royal Shakespeare Company and getting to perform in Stratford-Upon-Avon; from winning national potato-growing competitions and county maths challenges, we believe the small school setting really can offer the best of all worlds. Our beautiful rural setting gives our children acres of space to run around in, and our forest school, strawbale roundhouse and polytunnels allow them to learn outdoors as well as in the classroom - and all within less than 5 miles of Wadebridge town, where our children generally proceed to Secondary school.
If this sounds like the sort of learning environment that you would like for your children, please call into our office or make an appointment to have a look around the school and meet our staff and pupils.
