Our Topic Learning
(Evolution and Inheritance)
This term’s topic is ‘ Evolution and Inheritance’ and we are going to kick start our topic with a visit to the Eden Project. We are booked onto the workshop ‘Darwin’s Doodles’ where the children will be transported to a South American Rainforest and will explore the theme of evolution by looking at various plant adaptations. Our texts for the term are ‘The Promise’ , ‘Can We Save The Tiger?’ and 'King Kong.'

The children will be learning the skills required to play rugby and hockey this half term from the Argyle coach and will either be swimming on a Monday afternoon or having a yoga session. The children will continue to learn about health and fitness and the importance of a well- balanced diet.
We have a whole class visit planned to take part in some workshops with the Kernow King based on local Cornish heroes and then watch a performance.
We also have the postponed 'Bikelight' parade on the 26th January, so hope to see many of you there.

Another busy and exciting term to look forward to!

Our Learning this week

(Week Ending 5.4.19)

Happy Easter Holidays Everyone!
We hope that you all have a lovely 2 weeks together and have lots of fun filled days to look forward to (hopefully with the reappearance of the sunshine)!
A big well done to all of our children for completing the Easter Egg Hunt at school today, it was lovely (as always) to see the older children supporting the younger children so well. Another big congratulations to everybody who made and wore an Easter Bonnet today - what an amazingly creative bunch you are! Don't forget the Easter colouring competition over the holidays for another chance to win a prize.
Homework was set on Monday to be completed by Wednesday 24th April. It is a single sheet with 10 spellings to learn , the children need to practise their handwriting on the sheet. They will then be tested on their 10 words on Wednesday 24th April and then given a new set of words for the following week. On the reverse is a times table sheet taken from the 'Times table Rockstars' website.  It is a fantastic resource specifically designed to engage with children to help to support them in learning their times table facts. All children have their log ins so please use the site as well. A few minutes spent every day will see a huge impact on their progress. Year 6's have their study guides to help them prepare for their upcoming SAT's tests and have been set some reading comprehensions to complete.
Copies of the Easter reading bingo to keep you all reading everyday are attached below.
See you all on Wednesday 24th April!
