Our Topic Learning

Our current topic is 'Dinosaurs and all that rubbish', linked to the book of the same title by Michael Foreman. This topic has been devised by the children in Class 1 and preschool as so many of them have shown a huge interest in dinosaurs recently and dinosaur play is brought in to our provision on a weekly basis anyway! The children returned to school this week (after Spring half term) to find some eggs in Class 1 - we are watching this space to see what hatches! Our topic will allow us to explore all things dinosaur as well as how to look after our local and wider world environment. We will have a big focus on recycling and we even have a class trip planned to give the children a real experience of how recycling benefits us all! As always there will be some celebrations throughout the half term including pancake day, St Pirans Day, World Book Day, Mother's Day and Easter. We are very much looking forward to the next few weeks of watching our children discovering, learning and developing!

Our Learning this week
Week ending 15/3/2019

Another busy and fun filled week of learning comes to an end in Class 1! This week alongside our daily phonics sessions we have focussed on our core text 'Dinosaurs and all that rubbish' in literacy and we have worked on addition in maths. The Reception children have also focussed on the number 13 during their number sessions. The children have thoroughly enjoyed becoming scientists in the afternoon as it has been 'Science Week' - ask us about some of the exciting experiments that we have been involved with! The week ended with everyone wearing red to support Comic Relief and a whole school 'Move and Groove' session with Radio Cornwall to start our day! As always Class 1 have approached everything with a positive attitude and 100% effort - well done all :-)

Home learning for this weekend is attached below. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
