Armstrong Class: Year 2, 3 and 4

Armstrong Class
Welcome to Armstrong Class!  We are the Year 2, 3 and 4 pupils and our teacher is Miss Taylor.  We are lucky to have two fantastic teaching assistants to work with us throughout the week: Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Clutsom.
We are a fearless class of children who love taking on a challenge to get the best out of our learning!
Autumn Term 2019 - 2020
This term our topic is 'Bravery vs Fear'.
In our 'Bravery vs Fear' topic, we will be looking at the books: ' A Bear Under the Stairs', 'The Minpins', 'Jim, A Cautionary Tale' and 'The Day I Swapped my Dad'.  In our Science work we will identify  what animals and humans need to survive, the diets of different animals and begin to understand our digestive system. Later in the term, we will be investigating light and shadows. In DT, we will learning about nutrition and how to understand food labels. We will also design our own healthy salad by choosing the ingredients and creating it using our measuring, weighing and cutting skills. We will be using factfiles and books from the library to learn about the life of Neil Armstrong in History. We will create a timeline of his life and learn about the events of the first moon landing.  We will enjoy PE lessons based on Games and Gym and will enjoy a trip to the local church to find out more about the festival of Harvest.
PE kits and outdoor learning clothes need to be in school all week, our usual days are Wednesday and Thursday for PE.
